Alina Adams

Alina Solodovnikova-Adams was born in Ukraine. She started violin lessons at the age of 6. Her first teacher, Yephim Shestun, taught Alina not only to play the violin, but how to perform to an audience, so people could enjoy her music as well. Those nine unforgettable years in music school have played a main role in her life. Alina continued her education in Vinnitsa Music College, named Leontovich, and then during 1990-1995 she studied at Vinnitsa State Pedagogical University. Alina graduated from both schools with honors. She has a Masters degree in teaching music and in choral conducting. In 1989 Alina started her professional career as a performer with the Ukrainian State philharmonic. She traveled and performed all over the former Soviet Union until 2001. Alina traveled with her friends from sunny Moldova to the Russian Far East, bringing to the people the pleasure of world classical and Ukrainian folk music. She also enjoyed her work as a model in many fashion shows.
The year 2001 completely changed her life. Alina met her husband, Francis, a native of California, and came to the United States.
In the summer of 2003 she entered and won the title and crown of Miss Universal International, an event held in fabulous Las Vegas, Nevada.
Her professional career in the US as a musician has been very successful. Alina now works at her home-based studio in Vacaville teaching students of all ages violin, beginning piano and voice. She and her students are always welcome at many of Vacaville’s city events such as: Fiesta Days, Festival of Trees, Kid’s Festival and various concerts at the Andrews Park.
As a strings director Alina enjoys her work at Vacaville’s St. Joseph’s Catholic Church.
Alina joined the Solano Symphony at the beginning 2002, and now she is the Assistant Concertmaster. She is very glad to bring to the people the joy of music.
